Texas Best Reverse SearED FajitaS

PREP TIME: 50 minutes

COOKING TIME: 1 hour

When it comes to fajitas, technique matters just as much as seasoning. This reverse sear method ensures your fajitas evenly cooked, incredibly tender, and finished with a flavorful crust that locks in the bold taste of Texas Best Steak Fajita seasoning.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1–1.5 lb skirt steak or flank steak
  • 2 tbsp Texas Best Steak Fajita seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • Tortillas

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your grill to 250°F. Pat the fajitas dry, then coat it with olive oil and evenly apply the Texas Best seasoning. Let the fajitas rest at room temperature for 30–45 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Place the fajitas directly on the grill until they reach an internal temperature of 115–120°F. This slow cooking process ensures even doneness throughout.
  3. Next, heat a cast iron skillet or crank your grill to high heat. Sear the steak for 1–2 minutes per side until a rich crust forms and the internal temperature reaches 130–135°F for medium-rare.
  4. Remove from heat, squeeze fresh lime juice over the steak, and let it rest for 5–10 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain for maximum tenderness.
  5. In the same pan, sauté the sliced peppers and onions until they are tender with a slight char.
  6. Warm your tortillas and assemble with fajitas and vegetables.
